Non-Carnival excursion

If you book an excursion yourself and not use the Carnival people and you have to take a tender in, do they take their people first and make us wait? We were thinking of doing an 8:30am excursion in Grand Cayman and worried we might not get off in time. Thanks.

A lot of times if you take your private tour confirmation to the pursers desk the night before they can suggest what's the best way. I also usually have the private vendors tell me how their past customers have made it on time. Also make sure the vendor is using ship time or island time. If this vendor doesn this on a regular basis I wouldn't think he would be telling you a time in which you couldn't make it by. You may also want to go to the Grand Cayman port of call thread & see if you can find others that used them & what the experience was at being on time.

Hello:

They tell you that Carnival Excursion Guests get priority over those not taking the ship sponsored excursions. But we just walked down to the tender and got on without any hassle. That was a couple years ago, however, and it seems that Carnival is getting a bit stricter about guests on non Carnival excursions.

Good luck and have fun.

When we sailed in January, we booked a private excursion in Grand Cayman, and we just walked down and got onto the tenders when we wanted to. We had to meet our tour by 8:30 and were there without any issue and had 20 minutes to spare.

What tour and who did you book with?

Same with us last year on the Legend in GC - just walked down and got on a tender. In fact, because we got screwed up by the time of day in port, we were over an hour early for our private excursion. :(
