Highly Sociable Posted March 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2009 We are booked on a B2B, going on 8th April (yippee). This is not a true back to back and has therefore been booked as two voyages. Our TA has negotiated significant on board credits for us, but I have two questions. 1) If we don't use up the portion that is marked on our invoice for the first crossing, will we lose it, or will the purser allow us to add it onto the second. 2) Half of the credits have been allocated to a cabin which will house our two teenagers. They won't be able to spend anything on board other than soda passes and the odd t-shirt. Will the purser transfer the credits onto our room, so that we can use it as a family? You need more help than my small here. I would say, you have to use the amout for your crossing on that crossing. the amount for your teens rooms im sure the purser will help with that, unless you have some huge amount though , you will get through it fast, you can use toward, tips, drinks etc
capnpugwash Posted March 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2009 The obc is specific to the voyage. Use it or lose it. If you travel as a family whilst the OBC is notionally shared it is all yours and when you come to settle the bill it will all be added to your account as will the charges from the other cabin. Highly Sociable Posted March 23, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Thanks, thats exactly as I thought. The OBC is $700 per voyage, so I'll make sure I keep tabs on it and order an extra few martini's for my new found friends if it looks as though we won't use it all. :)
imacruizer Posted March 23, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2009 What a terrible problem to have such a large OBC for each voyage!!!! ;) Don't forget the spa. You can purchase spa passes that allow you to use the spa facilities each day. You can also book specific treatments in the spa and the beauty salon. So enjoy massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, and other wonderful treatments. I hope you and your family enjoy your crossings! Beth

Jimsgirl Posted March 23, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Oh my Highly Sociable May I be so "rude" as to ask how your agent managed so large and "on board credit"? I am doing B2B booked as two seperate cruises April 26 and May 2 and I have received ZERO OBC. I am Platinium member If you do not wish to write details here you can E mail me at rafex1@earthlink.net Thank you Lynn
Highly Sociable Posted March 23, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Oh my Highly Sociable May I be so "rude" as to ask how your agent managed so large and "on board credit"? Thank you Lynn We booked our trips September 2008 and the prices have decreased since then. So I asked my TA what they could do for me. Cunard first offered an up grade, but that didn't work as my husband and I are on deck 11 with a balcony and the children are on an inside room, directly opposite ours. So an upgrade for all of us wasn't possible. So they came back with $150 per person per voyage and I already had a $100 OBC on our cabin from a previous offer. I'm with you Captain Pugwash. The spa treatments are over-rated. I have treatments regularly at home for a fraction of the cost, so I may pay to use the facilities on the odd day, but my husband and I will be in the Commodore Club each evening after dinner. Well, I'll be in CC and he'll be in the cigar lounge, putting the world to right.:)
ocngypz Posted March 23, 2009 #9 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Take your obc out in cash at the casino. They will however charge you 3% to do so. Use the children's seapass card for your onboard charges as much as possible. I am assuming your credit card will ultimately be paying the onboard charges for your children's cabin. smoothdancer Posted March 23, 2009 #10 Share Posted March 23, 2009 How about using the OBC for tips? That should add up with two cabins.
