GXmanDC Posted March 24, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2009 Nine is closer to the pool deck, spa, gym & Windjammer. Seven is closer to the Royal Promenade. I'm not sure if one is better than the other. I've always stayed on deck 8.
balcony4u Posted March 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2009 we stayed on deck nine our last cruise. we said we would have prefered something lower. a lot of the things we like are in the lower levels. promenade, theater, main dinning room, excursions. it was a long hike to deck nine from these things. on the navigater we were on deck 7 and loved it. it all depends where you are going to be going the most when out of your room. deck nine was great for the exercise! Bonnie Voyager Posted March 24, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2009 Unless I am in an aft cabin (for which I would prefer deck 10), I would stick with deck 7 myself. I think it is more centrally located to EVERYTHING! I would choose a cabin close to the aft centrum as then you are also just an elevator ride away from the Viking Crown Lounge, Flow Rider, Sports Deck, kids areas, dining venues, Royal Promenade, art gallery, casino...did I miss anything? ;)
Moondawgie Posted March 24, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2009 DRMAN, there are so many things not mentioned in your post. How old are the other passengers (kids?)? Do they need a balcony? I prefer lower decks, so 9 would be too high for me, but it's subjective. It's closer to the Windjammer. Also, where on deck 7 and deck 9? Mid, aft, bow? I prefer mid. If you don't mind spending the money, do what you feel comfortable with, but I'd rather save the $$$.
cb at sea Posted March 24, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2009 We prefere deck 10, simply because it's only 1 flight to the pool. Try to pick a deck closest to where you'll spend most of your time--it makes running back and forth to the cabin a breeze. The elevators can take forever and it's easier if you can use the stairs! 2 or 3 flights is ok, but 4 or more is rough if you do it multiple times a day!
