Splendor or miracle

Help me choose. My dh and i are celebrating 20 yrs next year. We are looking at 8 day southern "saints" with miracle or splendor in the rivera.

Pros for miracle.

Port is closer to home (nashville, but either way we will have to fly).

Always wanted to do southern islands but enjoy my days at sea too much to give up.

Cons.

Only three dates for cruise . . So price and time limited.

Biggest draw back is smaller ship. (we have sailed on glory and conquest and love them but not too fond of fantasty).

Help me people who have sailed on both classes.

Pros for splendor.

We spent a week in cabo last year and we do love that side of mexico.

Bigger, newer ship.

Year around iten so we would have much more flexibility in price and travel time.

In my mind seems like more of an "exotic" trip because it is our of our normal travel area.

Now a couple of questions. Does anyone know how much more the spa cabins are than the regular balcony cabins. Also is it worth getting that for the th. Pool or just pay the up charge to use the pool if you wanted to. Does anyone know how much the upcharge for the pool is?

Thanks!

Come on Becky,

you know it would be a "Miracle" if you could get that brother of mine on a cruise that lasts longer than 7 days!!

I still think you should do the Miracle because:

1. It's closer (less time on a plane)

2. It's longer (more time to drink those foo-foo drinks)

3. I love that class of ship

Here is my comparison of Conquest class (Splendor) and Spirit class (Miracle) ships:

I have been on 1 Conquest class ship, Valor, and 2 Spirit class ships, Pride and Miracle. Had an excellent cruise on all 3 ships, and loved each ship. Spirit class is my favorite, though.

Conquest class is larger, more passengers. It felt more crowded to me than Spirit class ships.

Spirit class has only 1 dining room. You can walk from front to back of the ship on any deck, all the way through. On Conquest class, there are 2 dining rooms. In order to get around one of the dining rooms, you have to go up and around on a higher deck......can't walk all the way through because the dining room blocks your way. Not a big deal, but just takes some getting used to.

I prefer the layout of the Lido pool areas on Spirit class. It is one flat deck, whereas Conquest class has a tiered deck. The Aft pool area on Spirit class is also just one flat deck, where you can walk right to the railing of the ship and look out at the water. On Conquest class, the pool area has an open roof but there are windows on the sides. To get to the open deck and railing, you have to go up one deck from the pool/bar. Not as much room up there either.

Conquest class has the big outdoor movie screen on Lido deck by the main pool. It also has a fish and chips station. Spirit class does not have either of those things. I didn't really like the movie screen that much, I thought it was loud and I'm not much of a movie buff. I don't like fish. But if either of those things are important to you, Spirit class does not have them.

I think you can't go wrong with either of the 2 ships you are considering. I can't answer your questions about the spa cabins, sorry. Good luck!
