Has anyone flown into Barbados to pick up a cruise there? Carnival does not provide transportation from the airport to the ship. Any suggestions on how to get to the ship?

Carnival said it's about 12 miles and 45 minutes:confused: Seems long.

When you come out of customs there will be many Taxis available.

The drive can take anywhere between 30mins and one hour. It all depends on the time you arrive and the traffic at that time.

Any suggestions on how to get to the ship? ===> Taxi.

Carnival said it's about 12 miles and 45 minutes:confused: ===> Yup!

Seems long.

Why does it seem long? That's how long it takes. ;)

-anywhere from 1/2 hour to an hour, depending on afternoon traffic. :)

Likely your flight lands somewhere between 2 and 4 p.m. (don't they all)

and you'll be at least 1/2 hour in the airport, if not more!

Jump in a cab right outside, and enjoy the evening Bridgetown traffic.

If your driver has a brain, he'll circumnavigate B'town

and approach the Port area from the President Kennedy Drive area

avoiding all the krapola thru Town itself.

Hey thanks guys for the responses. I guess I thought it was a long time because I wasn't thinking about traffic. It's understandable though.

One other question; anyone have any idea approx how much that cab fare will be? Would it be a good idea to negotiate the price or is it pretty set in stone?

I was just looking at that sign at GA airport a few days ago and I think it said BD$46(US$23) from GA to Deep Water Harbour.

This would be for up to four (4) in the cab, NOT P/P.

You may be quoted a lessor fare and it never hurts to negioate a little.

Be sure you are in agreement with the driver and if he quotes you $46 one way fare the next words out of your mouth should be "Is that Barbados dollars or US dollars?"

Make no assumptions with Barbados taxi drivers, agree and verify before you get in the cab.

Enjoy your visit and cruise! :)
