Wrapped Christmas gifts on board?

Does anyone know with all the security regulations if we can bring wrapped Christmas gifts on board, or should we wait to wrap gifts till after we are on board?

They won't always do it, but both the airport and the cruise ship security may have you unwrap the gifts prior to going through security... I'd just wait until you were onboard...

Actually ended up calling Carnival and asking.....its fine to bring them wrapped. The scanning equipment can see through the wrapping paper.

Just be aware that you can call Carnival 20 times and get 20 different answers... this is from their website...

 

Wrapped Gifts: Guests may bring wrapped gifts on board; however, due to heightened security, the gift may have to be unwrapped, upon request.

 

So just be aware, that they MAY have you unwrap the gift...

Don't take any chances - wait until you get on the ship to wrap your gifts.

Remember that around Christmas, security will be at a very high level - both at the airports and the cruise terminals.

I think I will just stick with the gift bags. That way I won't have to unwrap and rewrap any of them.
