How long does debarkation take at ports?

On Norwegian Pearl in Dec.. We dock at 9am. in St. Thomas . How long a process is debarkation and about what time can we expect to hit the ground looking for a taxi to marina on east end for 10am day sail/snorkel trip.?

It really and truly varies...my first cruise it took like close to 3 hours to clear customs for some. It also depends on the amount of passengers and the number of Non US Citizens

Once the ship is cleared for folks to leave, it's a "walk-off" port--it won't take long at all at that point!

St. Thomas takes a while, especially if you are coming from a foreign port as each passenger must be cleared individually before leaving the ship.

Leaving from Miami with a stop at Samana, Dom. Rep. before stop at St. Thomas. Still think it will take more than 1/2 hour to clear and get off ship

ports like that where you can just walk right off are usuallu quite easy...once the ship is cleared they will allow you to just walk right off...shouldn't be more than 9:20 or so if the ship is cleared at 9

It depends upon the ship and the port, but they usually give priority debarkation for passengers with ticketed excursions...
