notalandlover Posted March 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2009 Can anyone comment on which cruise line has the best repeat customer fare discount/s or explain which one they like the best and why. Thanks in advance.
wecruiz Posted March 30, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2009 They really are not woith that much. We cruise when and where we want, although so far most has been on Celebrity. The "discounts" have never figured into the mix. I did a spreadsheet and compared each major cruise line. The effort was really not worth the results. Each cruise line had different discounts for different things - one had a discount for laundry, one for the casino, one for the internet, etc - the value for each was really insignificant when taken with the cost of the trip. They are nice to have, but in no way a decision point for selecting a cruise. Go where you want on a line that will treat you right. The rest is gravy. Arwenmark Posted March 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2009 NCL offers the Latitudes discount on every sailing. and it can be good. Seems to run from about $50 pp to $200 pp depending on the cruise and the fare.

Rare Waynetor Posted March 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2009 I like Princess Captain Circle program. It is automatic after first cruise. The fare discounts vary from crusie to cruise and sometimes other types of discounts offered may be better such as a senior or group. They have 3 levels of benifits based on number of cruises or a minimum number of days at sea. The number of days at sea is not considered by most lines but allows those that take fewer crusies but longer cruise to reach the next level faster. Some benifits are just nice to have such as priority boarding but others have a bottom line vacation cost benefit such as internet cafe discount, boutique discount and complimenty laundry/dry cleanings Wayne S
cheesetu Posted March 30, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 30, 2009 The only time I find the past customer discounts to be significant is when I receive a very specific e-mail from the cruise line. It's happened to us on HAL and also on Princess where the TA couldn't match the price until we got the cruise line on the phone.
