Have you stayed in D601 on the Island Princess?

Will be going on an alaskan cruise with Island Princess.

Requested B205 but logged in today to see that cabin changed to D601.

I requested B205 to be close to the outside front area on the Baja deck. I reserved a specific cabin to be sure to have that specific cabin (instead of a guarantee). Apparently this is not the case.

I wonder if the change that I received should be seen as a downgrade or an upgrade?

B205 is categoy MB, D601 is categoy MB and shows more expensive on the site. However, are the cabins actually different?

Check out this site,

I like D601 because its further aft and close to the aft viewing area.

The Baja cabin looks to be completeley uncovered.

Interesting site. Baja cabin is covered by Lido deck two decks up. Less covered in case of bad weather. Closer to forward viewing area compared to D601 and the aft viewing area.

What is the advantage of being further aft? Could you elaborate?

We have stayed in that same area on Baja, believe me some cover 2 decks up will not help you one bit.

As I said its close to the aft viewing area. Not as much movement.

We just prefer aft cabins.
