michigan tim Posted March 31, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2009 I'd sure like to try wading the shallows for bonefish. If I venture to the other side of the island with my trusty pack rod is anyone going to care? (FWIW, I caught a lot of fish off the dock at Kings Wharf last June.) I'll definitely bring my gear to Bermuda! :D Thanks for the heads up!! DT
schenckg Posted March 31, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2009 Assuming you don't have an issue carrying it off the ship I can't see how you'd have a problem fishing on the far (East) side of the island. You hike the road out past the light house and come to the cove and dock. You could probably fish there or, if you look to the left where the road leads you into the cove area you'll see a trail leading off further to the East. If you follow that you'll come to a beach area that is generally deserted. I don't know what conditions bone fish like but as far as disturing people or visa versa this area would be hard to beat. time2cruise1 Posted March 31, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2009 If I recall correctly GSC is a protected area with no fishing allowed.

bakerintn Posted April 1, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Here is a link to an aerial view of GSC...you can see the path that another poster mentioned. The yellow arrow points to the old lighthouse...the red arrow points to the beach where you land on the tender. http://picasaweb.google.com/bakerintn/CruisePixMisc#5277114375477424434 and here is a link to several other pictures....before NCL bought this island, I hear it was famous for bone fishing. http://marinas.com/view/overview/542_Great_Stirrup_Cay_BI
