Post Cruise Advice Desperately Needed!

My husband and I will arrive back at the Port of Miami at 8:00am on Sunday, May 17. Our flight does not leave Miami Airport until 6:00PM We would like to spend some time relaxing before our flight at a quality beach.

Does anyone have any tips for us? What do we do with our luggage and about transfers? Is there a hotel that offers half or day passes that could handle our luggage until we are ready to leave?

Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated and we thank you in advance.

We cruised Carnival Destiny out of Miami last month and they offered a program called luggage express - for $20 each they transported your luggage to the airport and checked it with your airline; we had not hassels with luggage during the day and did not see our bags again until we landed in DC. Check to see if your cruise line offers a similar service. Alternative is to sign up for a Miami tour where your bags will stay in the bottom of the bus until they drop you at the airport.

With no luggage you could easily take your time leaving the ship (we did not get off until about 9:00) and then catch a cab to Miami Beach - great beach areas and lots of places to eat, shop, people watch - even some museums and art galleries.

Good luck!:)

We did the Everglades tour. They load your luggage into the bus and it stays on the bus until you get to the airport around 3:00 or so. OF course, we only did this once since we really did not want to do the tour again. So we have to think of something else to do in July. Maybe a day rate sounds like a good idea.
