Brennbob Posted April 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2009 I just booked a Pirate Ship tour in Cabo and was wondering if anyone has done this? It is also a snorkel excursion to Chileno Beach. Thanks
househunter Posted April 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2009 When are you going? The water is quite cold right now and will get colder until June when it starts to warm up again. Chilano is a great snorkle spot when the water is warm enough. We have never been on the pirate ship (we prefer the catamarans) but have seen it many times. Everyone looks to be having fun. I have heard that the daytime snorkle cruise is really geared for kids and there are many onboard while the sunset cruise has mostly adults and is more of a booze cruise. Have fun!:)
Brennbob Posted April 4, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted April 4, 2009 We are leaving in a week, we are taking our 2 1/2 yr old daughter so we do not mind that there is a lot of kids, we are probably not even going to snorkel just thought it would be fun. Thanks for the response.

sea_u_onboard Posted June 10, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 10, 2009 It doesn't look like they lift the sails on the Buccaneer Queen. Does it make a difference? Anyone book through Cabo San Lucas Tours? Was it worth the $49.50 each? Is there any other Pirate ship tour in Cabo?
sea_u_onboard Posted June 10, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 10, 2009 Another question. Is there any shade? I watched a few videos and it looks like the sails don't go up. Can you go down under to get out of the sun?
Caro C Posted June 20, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 20, 2009 There is very little shade on the Buccaneer Queen but there is a tarp covering. You can not go below. And nope, they do not have sails...it is a screen type mesh to look like sails. The cruises both in day and night are fun and entertaining. Please keep in mind that their pier is on the other side of the marina so either plan on taking a taxi to save time or plan for a long walk over there with a toddler. You can not take a water taxi over there because it is on a private pier so that is not an option no matter how hard the guys selling water taxis will tell you they can take you! OHCruiser Posted June 25, 2009 #9 Share Posted June 25, 2009 We did the Pirate cruise at night a few years back. Our son was 16 and OMG--we had such a blast. We laughed so hard our sides were splitting. The show was a bit bawdy in places and booze flowed freely. As I recall, the green mesh "sails" were used for light or laser pictures. For me, one of the highlights was seeing all of the cruise ships lit up at night.
