Based on the question of which cruise, I chose the Explorer because Rule Number One is a longer cruise always trumps a shorter cruise! :D The Explorer is 9 nights! Yay!

Are there kids involved? Since you are going on Spring Break there must be. Our kids enjoyed the Western Caribbean way better than the Eastern Caribbean therefore the Dream would win if that was the issue but no one knows what you are looking for and where you have gone?

Family vacation or a couple friends? What type of activities onboards are you looking for or are more enjoyable to you? Is flying an issue? What types of things are you looking for in the ports?

Some things that I think are important before any suggestions are made

this would be a spring break family cruise. Cruising with 2 teens. WE live in Ohio so the Explorer is Ideal beacuse we wouldnt have air fare.

My wife and I are doing a 9 night Explorer cruise in June. We normally cruise out of Florida, but we are excited about trying Cape Liberty and visiting NYC after our cruise.

You can't go wrong with a Voyager class ship, in my opinion.

For me, the choice would be between Oasis as it will have so many unique features and Independence as it is a Freedom class ship with a better itinerary IMO than Oasis. But that's me, and I would have to fly to any port. You have to decide if not having to fly to the port is of primary concern to you. The Explorer does have a good itinerary as well.

Tough decision.

Yes it would be ideal. But what activities would the kids and yourselves be interested in doing in San Juan, St. Thomas, Casa de Campo, Labadee? Personally, the itinerary on that one is less than desirable. St. Thomas is a shopping place, San Juan is a historical place, and Labadee and Casa de Campo? Western Caribbean is a blast for family activities unless the teens are just happy to stay on the ship the whole time. I know my teens were bored with the Eastern Caribbean but the Western Caribbean was loaded with new, fun, and exciting things to do. They had a blast.
