cfc525 Posted April 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2009 This will be first time docking at King's Wharf, Bermuda. SO and I will be on the NCL Dawn in June. Can someone tell me which side of the ship is ocean view when in port. Just wondering what we will see from our balcony. Hopefully a nice view... if this is of any help, we will be on deck 9, cabin # 9650 Thanks to all :)
SailBadtheSinner Posted April 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2009 The cruise ship can dock either side in. The Dockyards is not an industrial scene. So to me, anyway, it does not matter on which side the cruise ship docks so long as you are in Bermuda. Also the side out does not face the ocean but Grassy Bay. I have a pix of part of the Dockyards which I will post if I can find it. SBtS

staceyj Posted April 9, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2009 We'll be cruising there for the first time next week on the Carnival Miracle. I assume that the Royal Naval Dockyard is the same port as King's Wharf? Also from CT! Fairfield.

With the new berth, we have a new name: Heritage Wharf. You'll LOVE Bermuda!!

Rare mking8288 Posted April 10, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 10, 2009 The Dockyard is at the northwest tip of the Bermuda island, the buiding in the middle is the Clock Tower Building with restaurants, shops, gift shops and an internet cafe (very inexpensive compared to ship's rate - trying to remember, it was like $5 for 30 minutes & very good speed/latency). The city bus to downtown has stops there and also the ferry terminal to town (a 20 minutes ride). Depending on how the cruise ship is docked, it could be port side or starboard side - and, if your cabin is on the opposite side of this pix, you will have the distance harbor view toward downtown as well as looking out toward the Atlantic. This pix is an oceanview with the Atlantic in the distance background, past the building grounds on what was a military barrack.
