Pompeii thoughts..

Recommended Posts

We were in Naples last June and when you exit the pier across the street there is a newsstand that sells transit tickets. Buy a day pass which was about 3 euros each.

Then you get on the tram to the Circumvesuviano station. It is about a 5 minute ride.

If you get this train at the main staion you will walk forever. I think this day pass is good as far as Sorrento and is for all transport in the Naples region. Get to Pompeii early as you beat the tour crowds and the midday heat.

The day pass was also good for the Circumvesuviana train ? You didn't have to buy a train ticket in addition to it ? Thanks very much for the help. :)

The day pass was good for all forms of land transit in the Naples region.

Bus, trams, subway, Circumvesuviano.

We thought the Noordam was a great ship.

We were on it in Nov '06 on a 10 day trip to the Carib from NY and last

May-Jun for 20 days B/B out of Rome to the eastern and western Med.

The only thing we disliked was the shows were the exact same on

each segment in the Med and we saw the same production shows

out of NY.
