No problem, mon...:DIt is fun sharing this with you all.....

Let's see...We were in Grand Cayman today...had a bit of a problem...our departure time was moved from 3:30 to 1:30...with very little notice and many, many excursions were canceled....bummmer! Luckily I have cc to fall back on....climbed on the Cayman Island thread and read quickly about reputable companies...so off we went with Moby Dick....Mark and gang and had a wonderful trip to the stingrays.....we have done this before but it has been years....we had a great trip; enjoyed it and it fit right into the schedule....got back on board, had a nice lunch in the dining room and took a nap....

Dinner tonight was Italian night...it was okay for me...dh loved the veal. The lemoncelo (spelling) was tasty as was the tiramisu (sp) also good. My chicken was just okay....no big deal...had plenty to eat!

OH....forgot to say why all the change in departure time....a storm is on the way ...last time this type storm hit, they delayed to long in leaving and some people got stranded....they could not get them back on the boat due to the swells....so they didn't want to take a chance on a reoccurance of this....it is pretty rocky tonight but that doesn't bother either or us.....

We saw an amazing show tonight....Tony Tillman....I am not a big production type person...and not into many of the performances....other than the comedians...but Tony was absolutely fantastic...don't miss him!

We also saw the comedian, james Michael....oh my....he was very, very funny...fast paced and had us crying in laughter....a bit over the line but that doesn't bother us!

About the Lido deck.....we love it and only book Lido....I know all about the other balconies...and am not at all interested....I don't need more space or a bigger balcony...we like being by the pool, pizza and burgers...and especially the bar....it is perfect for us....I did feel the slighetest listing last night when I went to the restroom...but it was not bad. Tomight will probably be bad....even the plaza deck was pretty rough....mid ship....In summary....the Lido is awesome!!!

The secret dining room question was answered....I don't remember it being traditional on ALL ships except the Caribbean.... but I don't have the time or desire to check this info....let's just say....on our last few cruises it was not this way....so I will just say...the back dining room that you have to go to deck 7...go down the right staircase to...stairs are by club fusion....go to deck 6.....is traditional dining (I'm not messing with colo cruiser....skert of that!).....enough said....so pick either the DaVinci or Michaelangelo....oh and by the way...Francios is in the Michaelangelo....he gets better and better....and the head waiter is Augustus....we don't wait in line anymore...we just walk in and head to our table....if Augustus sees us, he just smiles and tells us our table is ready.....

Lindasuej....I will keep an eye out for your sister....was she part of the thread? If you give me a description...I might be able to find her...and we will head right out to vines to send a hello from you....desiro!

Sorry, might not get to the pics...I will try to take some and post when we return....

beerinh2o....we'll try not to drink it all...although the challenge is quite tempting.....

We are off....gotta try my luck again at the casino...keep your fingers crossed for me....

More to come!

My sister was part of this thread but she didn't post much. Her sign on was PLZ0419. She is about 5'4 with chin lenght hair. She usually plays blackjack, 3 card poker or sometimes hse is with her hubby who plays craps. Her name is Patti. Hubby is Richie. Her son Richie plays blackjack. He is very young looking but don't let that fool you. He is an attorney. Thanks for asking.

About the Terrace Pool....we were on the deck with that pool one cruise a long, long time ago.....

I believe there are two ways to get there....from the Caribe Buffet exit or from the deck that it is on...taking a few short steps up...I thought it was deck 14 but I will go there and check later today....:)

I am sure there are others who know this and can share but I will stop by!

Hi, hope you are enjoying your cruise aboard the Ruby. 1 quick question.......can you tell me what is nearby the cabin E316. On the deck plans there is only 1 other inside cabin next door and the rest is shown in white. Good or bad area to have booked for next year?

Thanks in advance.

Pete.

To time4me2fly: We were just on the Ruby on Riviera Deck. There is a door that opens to the Terrace Pool area at the aft end of Riviera Deck. We were just 10 steps from that door on our cruise. It's very convenient. Be careful using it though as there is quite a bit of suction from the wind. It slams very easily.

Love Boat Dream is a chocolate mousse on a thin brownie wafer in the shape of a heart ..... so good!!!

The blank white areas are usually storage. We were on Aloha and above us was all white....did not hear a sound from it.

Have you had the milk and cookies at the International Cafe at 3:30 yet??

Hey Goldens,

I am from Maryland and headed to Ruby for 4/11/09 Cruise, I am also on Lido deck, L310 but I am a little hesitant for noise from pool area. THis is our best friends first cruise and they are L312 so I am worried it may be too noisy for them too. (we are not really big party people so that is my concerned)anyway, glad to hear you loved the ship. I have 3 big excursions planned for each day we are in port so I hope the weather holds out for us.

We are really looking forward to it.

We disembarked the Ruby Saturday (4-4) and our cabin was L308. The noise wasn't too bad. I won't lie to you. We did hear some noise if we were on our balcony but it wasn't bad enough to be annoying. I heard the MUTS one night around 11. I think they were playing a movie with alot of explosions and I heard that some until the gentle rocking of the ship put me to sleep:D Enjoy your cruise. Ours was outstanding. BTW, I would book the exact same cabin again.

Hey there folks...sorry it has been a little while....

Went to Nachi Cocom yesterday and had a wonderful day....it was sunny and warm ...but there was an amazing breeze that kept us cool....

If you are planning this trip....might I suggest when you get there....walking in ....go to the right...we had an average waiter but some friends got there before us and were taken to the right and had wonderful service...not that our was horrible, just a little slow....on the positive...the food was wonderful, the drinks wonderful and the beach and facilities....awesome....

Last night we again had our newly adopted son....well...if only....Francois serve us dinner ....I had the Alaskan King Crab legs and dh had seared pork roast...both were amazing! Tonight was Lobster night and as always it was soooooo good. We are heading to the comedian tonight ...well dh is playing in a hold'em tourn while I go to the comedy act....where I will laugh until he comes back and tells me either the good news or the bad!

Tomorrow we will do the Crown Grill...I'll let you know how that goes....

About the LIDO deck and being close to the pool....we don't notice noise at all when we are right by the doors to the pool....this time we are three doors down....and the only time we heard much noise was the island night....which was just outside the doors by our cabin...and even then it was not bad.....we also have gotten in the habit of bringing a small fan...that gives us some white noise....but still there hasn't been a noise problem for us...even on our balcony.....I think you'll be fine....

As for the emerald deck......I don't know but will check....

Stopped by the Vines and said a hello for you.....nice guys!!!

If you notice a smell of stinky feet in the piazza....it is the cheese that eminates....gotta love brie....yikes....

See you later..........

oh....again....spelling is not my forte!

Aquarian and Colo Cruiser - Thank you for your replies. Now, I'm happy that I picked that location.

goldens4ever ~ this is a great "live from." Saw the Ruby on marinemap.com a few hours ago and bridge cam shows she's heading for Princess Cays. Ruby almost crossed paths with Emerald...very close. Could see Emerald from Ruby's bridge cam.

Hi...well the last couple of days flew by and I didn't get on as planned....

Our trip was so much fun. We met up with cc members throughout the entire cruise and made some great friends!

Princess Cays was a good time...another beautiful day there, relaxed on the beach ... the water was pretty cool but still tolerable....I don't remember the water being quite so cold in the past but I still love the beach so it doesn't matter.

The last night we did dinner in the Crown Grill....we are now big fans....what a fantastic dinner....I did a surf and turf....lobster tail and filet....yummy! It is well worth the extra $ in mho...we will definitely eat there again....and to be honest, we rarely do one of the other restaurants as we usually meet up with a waiter and don't want to miss out....

in fact, we fake ate dinner with our waiter.....for about 20 minutes before going to the crown....we had to say goodbye, give him his envelope and take pictures....

Anyway....I'll be working on my review in the next day or so....

desiro....your guys were really great in Vines....and they send their warmest regards back to you!!!!

Wishing everyone many wonderful future cruises.....and if you are heading out on the Ruby....please stop in the Michaelangelo dining room and tell Francois and Danny hello for us!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and shared this experience with me.....

I will also be posting my review in a few days. Trying to recover from only 4-5 hours of sleep most of the week. I will also say that the Crown Grill was a highlight of our cruise. We had dinner there on Monday for my husbands 50th Birthday. We booked approx 7 weeks prior to the cruise, received a great deal on an obstructed on Emerald deck. I will worn anyone now who has a room on this deck that if they like to retire to bed early (before 1am) you should proobably change rooms. We were almost mid-ship and could her all the club music from the Promenade. When I call down to the pursers desk, they said it has been a problem, but the music would stop by 1am except for the night that they had a New Years Eve party in the Piazza that went on till almost 2:30am.

We just got off the Ruby and were in E407, we never heard any noise from down below(some nights we were in bed by 11). We had a fabulous time thanks in large part to the hysterical cruise staff especially Natalie and Dan. We cant wait for our nexrt cruise!!
