Staying Tampa-Marriott-Waterside, good eats, please

The Columbia would certainly be a great choice, probably top of the list if it's your first visit to Tampa. Hop on the trolley (the first stop is right by your hotel) and take it all the way to the last stop; you'll be about a block or so away, just have the conductor point you in the right direction. Cost is $2 per person each way, or you can get a "day pass" for $4 if you think you might want to get on/off the trolley at some additional stops. I'd suggest doing that, then on the way back also check out the Channelside Entertainment complex (it's where the cruiseships dock, a nice collection of shops, nightclubs, restaurants & such).

If you don't go to the Columbia, there are some very good restaurants with a wide variety of styles at Channelside. The Thai place is very good, there's a very nice steakhouse (Gallaghers), Stumps has good southern/country style food, even the bowling alley has pretty good food.
