NoWhiners Posted April 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2009 Anyone out there been tracking prices lately? We are thinking of a canal cruise in April 2010. TA says prices don't seem very good. Anyone have any comments/info? Mary Lynn
ekkc10753 Posted April 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2009 I was looking at those too, but only just started today...the prices do seem high. The other thing I was wondering is, if given the choice, is east to west or west-east better?
BillB48 Posted April 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2009 I don't feel there is any difference in the direction of the transit. The most important items to me are the ease of getting to your departure port and what kind of flight/connections etc. you have when you disembark. The ports of call maybe slightly different depending on the direction of travel as well. While you might be able to find a Canal cruise at almost anytime of the year, in the spring, most cruises are from the east coast to the west coast and the reverse is true in the fall. It's a great cruise either way!
Richard in Panama Posted April 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 27, 2009 Actually the per diem prices on ZUIDERDAM have been very good! And the ship has sailed full throughout the past 10-day Canal season. Keep in mind that the price to take the ZUIDERDAM into the Canal is $320,000! jetstorm Posted May 5, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 5, 2009 I was sondering the same thing about the prices. I am considering the Dec. 23rd sailing. Should I book now or wait and see if the prices come down a bit? Anyone know of a way to get an outside or even a balcony for little more than an inside? To those in the know, what are the can't miss things to see and do on the round trip from Ft. Lauderdale?
