mpocd Posted April 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2009 When you take a transfer from a airport to the ship, the porters usually tag your checked baggage and take it onto the ship. Normally, you would then go through the embarkation process. But would it be possible to let your bags go onto the ship and you not embark until later? I'm thinking that you could have four (or so) hours free at the port without having to worry about your checked bags. Why? Well we are embarking at Barcelona and would be able to use some of the four hours at a (very) close tourist site. Yes - I know all the dangers of getting back to the ship in time. But what about handling our bags that way? Is it doable?

TonyFred Posted April 15, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2009 You can also board and then leave the ship again.
paul929207 Posted April 15, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2009 We dropped our bags at the cruise terminal in Fort Lauderdale. Then we returned our rental car at the airport. Then we went back to the terminal and checked in and boarded the ship.
