hensghan Posted April 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2009 Just got our document pouches for our 05/09/09 HAL Alaskan cruise out of Vancouver. Our TA had told us HAL would 'most likely' book us into the Pan Pacific Hotel for our two day pre-cruise stay in Vancouver, but we find out now that HAL has us staying at the Fairmont Waterfront instead. Should we be disappointed with this unanticipated change of hotels? Any opinions?

Urban trekker Posted April 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2009 Agree with Scott - little difference between the two properties. Cheers Dennis
woodworker&knitter Posted April 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2009 Can't comment on any properties owned by Pan Pacific, but have stayed at The Waterfront and 6 other Fairmonts, there is a reason why they are so expensive,. They are the BEST

Jemima Posted April 20, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2009 If you booked the hotel through HAL, it will include a city tour and transport to the pier. The city tour is very good; but you can skip it and just have your luggage transported to the pier. There will be a HAL rep in the hotel part of the time. Let them know which you are doing. We also had the hotel post cruise and were doing the city tour then. So on embarkation day they picked up our luggage and we next saw it our cabin. We spent the morning on a leisurely breakfast and walking around the pier area.
