rabbit72 Posted April 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2009 Has anyone slept in the sofa bed on the balcony cabins on any of these ships??
gail811 Posted April 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2009 Yes, and they are comfortable. I have read where some people will bring the egg crate foam pad to use, but it is comfortable without too.
DanJ Posted April 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2009 For the most part, they aren't sofabeds in the conventional sense. We have one where you take the cushions off and pull the bed out from underneath. On the ships, they are called convertible sofas where they take the cushion off and make up the base as a twin bed. mom4mj Posted April 24, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2009 Thanks for posting that picture! We'll be in a quad cabin on the Conquest and my kids liked seeing what the room will look like.
floridacruzin Posted April 24, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2009 I think that they are quite comfortable. When we cruise I make DH and DS sleep on the King and I sleep on the sofa :D
tumh20 Posted April 24, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2009 Here is a picture of our quad room. My teen daughter, five foot five, slept two nights with her feet hanging off the sofabed, then we had her switch for the bunk with smaller son. It is probably close to a foot longer on top. rabbit72 Posted April 25, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Thanks for all your responses, I was hoping it wouldn't be the old kind with the bar going thru the middle of your back!!!

We had a room just like this on the Triumph and the sofa bed was very comfortable, I could have slept just fine.
Sugar67 Posted April 27, 2009 #11 Share Posted April 27, 2009 My DH, DD (18 yrs old) and I are going to be in a room where there is a couch and one of those "drop from the ceiling" beds. Which would be more comfortable for her?
TakeMeAway1001 Posted April 27, 2009 #12 Share Posted April 27, 2009 My DH, DD (18 yrs old) and I are going to be in a room where there is a couch and one of those "drop from the ceiling" beds. Which would be more comfortable for her? I would have her try out both and see which one she prefers. My DD had all intentions of using the upper but loved the sofa and used that instead :)
cruisers0708 Posted September 17, 2009 #13 Share Posted September 17, 2009 I'm a little nervous! My (16 yr old) son is 6'1 and now I'm wondering if he will even fit on a sofabed. We are in an 8G on Splendor....pretty sure a rollaway is not an option and I don't think it has one of those drop down beds. Any tall folks ever slept on one of these?
