Disembark..the secret of how to get off early?

Can anyone elaborate as to the best way to disembark quickest? I will be on the Fantasy on May 11 and when we return my wife and I have a 11 hour drive so we would like to get on the road as early as possible after disembarking. Any hints?

Thanks!

Previous poster is correct. Self assist you just get up, you take all your own luggage and head for the disembarkation point at around 7:00. You get in a short line and as soon as customs clears the ship you walk off the ship on your own. The only point is you must keep your luggage the last night and then you must be able to carry it off on your own. So pack light!

We usually try and do this and we are generally off the ship, in our car and on the road before 8AM.

Hope you really love your cruise!:)

(Oh if you cannot or do not want to carry off your luggage then tell them you have a 10AM flight when the send the disembarkation cards around)

Two words:

Luggage express.

These people get off before self assist.

I did this last year on Legend out of Tampa.

We were off the ship around 715 on a bus and to the airport by 8.

How would they go about producing those pesky airline documents?

What do you mean?

We paid for luggage express at the pursers desk. Provided our airline information and they printed our boarding passes.

The last morning of the cruise we met in a particular lounge and were escorted off of the ship.

Right past the line of people waiting for self assist.

The OP is driving home, not flying.

Can you tell me more about this 'luggage express? is this an extra purchased service? Are there any requirements and what is the usual time frame for it? (ie what time do they p/u your luggage, do you have to meet, & what time do you get off the ship)

Thanks! We have an 11:40am flight off the Legend in Nov... and my husband stresses about being late..

See I did help someone!

LOL.

Sometime during your cruise, go down to the pursers desk. Provide them with your flight information and pay them 20 bucks per person.

The last night of the cruise you will get your boarding passes and instructions on where to meet the last morning.

You set your luggage outside your door the last night and will not see it again until you get to your home airport.

I did this, was one of the first off of the ship, on the bus and to the airport by 8am.

Thanks CRuis'n Ron... one more question.. does it matter we are Cnd? (not that they won't do it for Cnd's but that our final destination is 'international') actually maybe it won't as sunday night we have to spend the night in Seattle so we'll be collecting our luggage then before our final leg back to Canada! Do you think it would still work?

And our luggage really would make it to the airport (on time?) and then on to the right flight? That would be wonderful, but seems like so many chances where it could get 'lost' lol!

Um, a scanner? MS Word? Adobe Acrobat? The possibilities are endless. It's not as if they actually call the airline to verify you are on the flight ;)

Being you are in the know, please share what they actually do for validation. And how exactly do you get around the luggage thing?

I misread the OP's question.

I apologize for the misunderstanding.

I didnt mean to start a debate about false documents etc.

Lets all have a fine Carnival day! :D

Ok?

Since you are only going to Seattle it is possible for you as a Canadian. This is only my opinion.

Yes really. Your luggage will be taken to the airport for you and given the proper tags etc and checked through to your final airport. In your case Seattle.

No getting off of the ship and hunting for luggage etc.

More details at the pursers desk. Pretty easy really. They even print your boarding passes for you on the ship.

Put the beers away. You've already ante'ed up (I screwed up myself on Facebook this morning, on a group on my hometown, completely screwing up the name of a particular place).

I don't know about Luggage Express (never used it). But if you wanted to claim that you have an early flight and get priority debarkation, a "boarding pass" would do the trick.

Again, I will ask, how would you get the luggage off?

Actually we have done this before when we had a early flight. We told them the night before debarkation and they gave us different tags to put on our luggage and we never did have to validate anything........

Our last cruise we needed more VIP tags for our luggage and they just told us to grab as many as we needed. Didn't even verify if we were VIP lol!
