Hazley Posted April 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2009 My wife and I are contemplating taking the Southern Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Victory next March. We would be embarking at Barbados. I am concerned about what happens when the ship gets to San Juan. I understand that there is some U.S. immigration procedure, but I couldn't determine just what, or how long it might take. We are travelling on Canadian passports. Thanks.
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Because 'most' of the cruise starts and ends in San Juan, I think the procedure for you would be what we go through doing a back to back. When all debarking passengers are off the ship, they escort those staying on off to go through immigration and back onto the ship. It might take a few minutes, or a couple of hours. Not sure if carnival gives out passes for 'transit' passengers. There have been other threads about this. EM
UME6869 Posted April 26, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2009 Go to the members reviews and select the Victory and read most recent review. That person didn't make a lot of sense. They were mad about everything but really mad about paying a 15 percent gratuity on alcahol, and how you are not told about it. Then they go on to say they have been on carnival a few times before, don't you think you would know that if you sailed before. anyway in the review this person talks about what happens when you get to San Juan.
