Off the Fascination Yesterday

We disembarked yesterday from the Carnival Fascination and had a great cruise except for DISEMBARKATION!!!!

Embarkation, our Oceanview cabin, the food, the service, the entertainment, and overall amenities were good to very good. But disembarkation took a long time- so if you are going soon, please be prepared. We docked at 8:15, but didn't get off the ship until 11:00!!!!

Embarkation was quick-even pleasant. The Oceanview cabins are a good size and Carnival has added non-skid flooring to the bathrooms which is sensible.

The dining room food was consistently good. Our group of three had Flatiron steak, Chicken a la Greque, Tilapia, the Lobster & Shrimp, which was very good, Perch, Salmon, Chicken Breast, Veal Parmigian, Sweet & Sour Shrimp and several other dishes. Shrimp Cocktail is available every night.

The Lido Food was good, but service there is sometimes slow.

Our dining room waiter was very good. We were in a comfortable 6 seater booth with 3 others. We had a wine package which was nice- and of course a bargain if you like wine every night.

We enjoyed the 2 man pool band- from Dominica- Tropic Thunder. Also enjoyed the Karaoke- the best singers performed for everyone the last night- at 5 pm in the big lounge.

Our room service was a bit slow, but maybe the steward is new.

Had a very good day in Nassau despite high winds. Went over to Atlantis to wander around and then to Cable Beach where we purchased a day pass for the Wyndham/Sheraton complex- great beach and pool resorts. The pass included a lunch buffet which we enjoyed.

We were in Freeport on a Sunday-not a good day to be there as so much was closed. We went to Our Lucaya and walked around the Westin/Sheraton complex and shopped at the bazaar across the street- but this complex is 10 miles from the pier and fairly isolated. Better to do a tour here, we feel.

Will answer any questions and will do a full review later.

We were on her over Christmas and will be back on her in June. On our cruise over half the ship did self debarkation and it took forever. We waited in our room for our zone to be called for a long time. Now last month on the Victory there was no self debarkation and everything went very smooth. I wish they would adopt that for every ship.

Hi, We are doing the Fascination in May and I was wondering how Atlantis was? Is it worth going over there to walk through? We plan on doing the Wyndham thing also and going through the Straw market but I'm not sure on going to Atlantis. What is the best way to Disembark? Self Disembark or where they call your name? I'm kinda confused on the two. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi-some answers. Self-assist debarkation does seem to slow up the process. We have never waited 3 hours to disembark. Maybe they should change this.

We did a full excursion at Atlantis a few years ago- and just took a $5 pp van over this time- just walked around. The aquarium is worth the price of $30 pp, but for us- the Wyndham/Sheraton Cable Beach is a good deal for a $40 day pass including a very good buffet.

My daughter had an early flight and had self-assist, but the lines were long and the whole process seemed slow.

We did the regular disembarkation and it was very slow.
