ATM card use in Australia/New Zealand

Has anyone used their ATM card in Australian and New Zealand ports of call?

If so, was there any problems and was there plenty of ATM machines around, airport, etc.?

I have used my ATM in the Sydney airport and all over downtown Sydney, including the Rocks area, which is where the cruise ship docks. My husband has successfully used his ATM in New Zealand as well.

I'm out in Australia and New Zealand a couple of times a year and now only ever get cash out by ATMs when I'm there. It's just like being at home, only warmer.

 

As long as you're sure that you can use your ATM, debit or credit card in the machine over there, you really don't need to take any other form of money.
