Janet Foster Posted April 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2009 We just got off a cruise last week with four other couples and had the best time ever. We left out of Miami and got there two days early so we could tour Miami and get "supplies" to take on board. We all had aft cabins. We had shirts made that said: Does this ship make my aft look big??? While in the planning stages of the cruise we thought we would try something different and decided that each couple had to host a themed cocktail party in their cabin. It was determed that the following themes were going to be used, each couple snagged their theme as soon as they could Love Boat Theme Pirates of the Caribbean Mardi Gras Luau Casino Each couple was responsible for passing out their invitations on the sly. Some hid them in other's cabins while visiting, some had their room attendants deliver the inviations, you had to be different. The invitations were so cute and original. Each couple had their cabin decorated with their theme. So you can imagine the things we brought. Shopping online at Oriental Trading Company made it easy for most of us. Each couple had to have a game and a prize. We had the late dinner seating so we had our cocktail parties around 6 or 7pm and room service provided the snacks. Our room attendants just got a big kick out of us. My sister had Pirates of the Caribbean Theme, they had a pirate and wench costume, my brother in law had the full get up. Wigs, hats etc. Well, when we got back to Miami last weekend wouldn't you know that they were selected at random by customs to go through all of their luggage. Everyone got a big laugh when they got to the wigs and hats.. HA HA Just a thought!!

Texaswinediva Posted April 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2009 That is the most fun thing I have heard of!!!!! Of course the more couples and rooms the better it is. I love cruising with a group of people. We have had 2 class reunion cruises and we loved it. But haven't done a group cruise together in a while. Hard to get everyone to commit to a certain date.:(
Janet Foster Posted April 30, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted April 30, 2009 Oh yes, it was a riot. Everyone was so secretive about their decorations and planning their parties and so when it was their day the couple would slip away to go decorate. So much fun here are a five pictures, one from each night. And yes we always have a crowd when we go on cruises it just makes it all the more fun!
