polodad Posted April 10, 2004 #27 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Shelly. I'm not sure about on the Mercury but on the Century I read that there is a daily morning waffle bar I think near the pool. What does not bode well is that I gain weight just from READING about this stuff. And you don't want to know how much weight I gain from looking at pics of the buffets, lol. What is a real incentive is the small fortune I just spent to have my new tux altered. It will never be sewn again. catmand Posted April 10, 2004 #29 Share Posted April 10, 2004 polodad.....The Men's Warehouse...you pay for the first alteration and all others are free, of course that is only if you don't grow out of the material...LOL....my new suit for the September sailing had to be let out for the March sailing. Nope never did see waffels on the Mercury but they did have an ice cream bar every day! ps: Sorry after Danno's post I guess that should be Mercury not The Mercury. Rare Lois R Posted April 10, 2004 #30 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Cat..I really enjoyed people watching in Cova too... Sonja and Michelle were wonderful bartenders. The other part of the ship I really loved was the Palm Springs area...especially all the way aft..sat outside and just enjoyed that wonderful view (when it wasn't so windy I felt like I would be blown off the deck ). akawanda Posted April 11, 2004 #31 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Hi all, This is Akawanda, Catmands BH(better half). I want to know if there is an all muu muu cruise? All muu muus, all the time. I made the mistake of letting our wonderful waiter know I loved creme brulee and eveynight he brought me two, plus another yummy dessert from the menu. I pretty much decided that just before we leave for our next cruise/food fest, I am buying 3 different sizes of clothes. One size for the first day, a size bigger for the next three days and two sizes bigger for the remainder of the cruise. I know when we get home and I realize that I have to eat my own cooking, the pounds will fly off. brigittetom Posted April 11, 2004 #32 Share Posted April 11, 2004 akawanda, I loved our Canada/NE cruise. It was freezing and all I wore was slacks and bulky sweaters. Nothing showed. I see AkaWanda stopped by,,,must have been all that talk about pastries. How true, one night our waiter brought 6 desserts for 2 people, and I remembered my Moyjer told me to always clean my plate. Lois, one of the ladies at the Cova bar was from Russia (or the area) I think it was Sonja. She remarked about my last name when I gave her my card....when my Dad came here from "the old country" the OVSKY was dropped. We had fun with that the entire cruise. I just thought our cabin location was great, I loved being able to walk around the corner and go down the stairs to the Cova. luv1another4ever Posted April 11, 2004 #35 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Hey Catmand, The bunnies are awesome! Thanks! Debra - I too found the powdered chai at the store, I got a can of sugar free that way I can eat an extra pastry or two! Hope that everyone has had a great Easter, just hanging with my family is more than any mother (moyjer - for catmand) could ask for. The idea of buying clothes in several different sizes is well taken. Maybe I should exchange a few things for larger sizes, it's not too late. Talk to everyone again soon.
