Pre-paid Gratuities

I was just wondering....I want to book a cruise to the caribbean and have the option of pre-paying the gratuities. Is there an advantage that anybody can tell me by paying beforehand? Its definitely added on, right?

I've only been on one cruise (Norwegian) and I'm looking at cruises leaving from FL sometime either the end of June or early July. Glory or Liberty leaning to. Thanks:o

For me it's a question of convenience... The gratuities are paid and out of the way rather than being billed to my Sail & Sign account later in the voyage...

There will be some people who will tell you that the gratuities, no matter if they are prepaid or paid later, are bunk... You'll have to determine that but I can tell you that I've never had better service than on board ship and it's well worth ten bucks a day...

If you pre-pay, you get on the ship knowing you owe nothing.

What you spend is what you owe.

I think its a good feeling to know everything is already taken care of.

If you do pre-pay remember they can be adjusted IF need.

I personally always have tips prepaid and have never adjusted the tips down. We have always had $10 worth of service and then some!;)

When pre-paying, the gratuities may NOT be adjusted downward.

We never have, and do not foresee ever having to, but with auto-tips on the S&S, you at least have the option.

We have done prepay, auto tips and tip on last night of cruise (earler years). I think auto tips is most convenient, but the best service we ever got was before they offered auto tipping, I think now they know the tip is already there and although the service is great, but not what it used to be, knind of like working on commission, use strive just a little bit harded.
