I think it depends on the brand and what results you are trying to get. I've tried a couple gel liners and they just go on a little heavier than I wish, they seem to be dry before I get a chance to smudge them. I've not tried a liquid liner in years.

What I prefer is Lancome Le Stylo waterproof pencil, it goes on soft and I can smudge the line to make it softer, it lasts all day until I take it off. I use a brown instead of a black color. The liner twists up, a plus so you don't have to sharpen a pencil.

You might try going to some cosmetic counters at a department store and try a few before making a purchase. Just because some of us like a certain brand and recommend it doesn't mean you will get the same results.

Good Luck :)

I swear by mac fluidlines, which are a gel (they stay put all day, and overnight sometimes, LOL) and also like Bobbi brown's gel liner as well. I also have an easier time getting a nice thin and straight line with the brush I use than I ever can with the brushes that come with tubes/liquids, or with pencil.

I've never heard of waterproof tube eyeliner, so can't comment.

I use gel eyeliner most of the time and I like one from therapy systems

I have one in espresso, and one in onyx. They go on really nicely and stay put and don't smudge in the heat.

I like pencil as well, but find that in the hot weather it smudges under my eyes.

Both MAC and Bobbi Brown get my vote as well!

Thanks, Happy ks, for your recommendation. I bought it and really like it. First one I've found which is easy to apply and stays. Jinn
