What to wear in the disco?

Recommended Posts

Ok I am trying to pack for our May 10th cruise on Carribbean Princess. I am trying so hard to pack light, lol. I plan on wearing shorts and bathing suits during the day and sundresses at dinner. I have my formal wear taken care of. Now my question is what do you wear after dinner? When I pack for a land based vacation I always pack "club wear" for nights out dancing. What do people on the ship wear to go to the disco?

You'll probably get mixed responses to this one. I only have been on 1 cruise which was a 5-day Carnival. They tend to be rather casual. But now I'm scheduled on a 7-day RC Liberty of the Seas, and I've been hearing I'll fit right in being dressed every night. I've been told some dress for dinner, some dress for the evening. So it's really your choice as to whatever you're comfortable in. If you feel hot in what you wore for dinner, they by all means, stay dressed. If you enjoy jeans and a cute top for late night, then do that. You'll probably see a mix in the disco.

Most folks will wear whatever they wore to dinner, so if you plan on going "clubbing", wear your clubwear to dinner.

IMHO, not all clubwear is suitable for dinner (minidresses or skinny jeans with no back tops for example, not that I wear that but many do). I would either wear what I had on for dinner (especially if it's a cute sundress or cocktail dress) or I would change before to go to the nightclub (on NCL, I bring a pair of jeans for this purpose and cute tops - but those are just for the nightclub nights, I don't go to the shows or activities dressed like that).

Some people wear what they wear to dinner all through the night. Some people change later on in the night after dinner. So some dresses, some jeans, some capris and some slacks. I don't think outfits are as racy as they'd be at a club at home, especially since the clubs aren't exclusive to one age group, but people do dress up at night regardless of whether they're in the club, at a show or in the casino.
