Bru92 Posted January 30, 2010 #1252 Share Posted January 30, 2010 Are the balcony dividers removable on the Verandah deck rooms 8260-68? Not specific to your cabins, but the balcony dividers are panels which can be unlocked so as to permit you to swing them. Your stateroom attendant can open them on request of both cabins. Rare Buffettfan 225 Posted January 30, 2010 #1253 Share Posted January 30, 2010 Just hoping for some thoughts or reviews about this cabin or others near the entrance of the Lido deck. Thanks!! :) We sailed a lido cabin for first time last October on Destiny which has almost same layout for that area. Your cabin should be absolutely fine :). What they do not show on diagram is metal door to get into that cabin hallway, it is basically located parallel to 9294 if you drew it from 9292 corner. It made that end really quiet, hardly had any foot traffic. Great location for food access, activites. Only downside was didn't take as many stairs that way and thus cost me more calories. The ones that are further down hallway had more noise from lido music at night. -about the 9273-9261 and 9264-9274 What happens when glass doors slide open from lido deck the music heads straight forward and hear lido music. These are cabins that are across from the elevator openings. Does that make sense? If we did another cruise, I'd aim for that lido location. I did find this info for your cabin #9286: Cabin 9286 4H ISTW 185 sq ft Beds: twin/king rab:0 (rollaway) View: no window or balcony TV; telephone; 110 AC current; individual climate control; hair dryer; wall safe; 3-closets; shower; chair and coffee table Note: Cabin is modified for wheelchair users. Rare Buffettfan 225 Posted January 31, 2010 #1256 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Do the balcony rooms have mini fridges? Looking at the stateroom descritions, only suites have mini bars and balconies do not have them listed. The mini bars only keep things cool and not "cold"- we usually rely on extra ice bucket with towel wrapping for insulation.
Bru92 Posted January 31, 2010 #1257 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Do the balcony rooms have mini fridges? No, unless you specially request one for medical reasons. The room is stocked with sodas and bottled water for purchase and your stateroom attendant fills your ice bucket twice a day. Mike in Ohio

YoungOne94 Posted February 1, 2010 #1264 Share Posted February 1, 2010 outside movie screen? yes :) Ok, thanks. I figured it would seeing as how most ships do and the Triumph (sister ship to Victory) does.
cruiseawaits Posted February 1, 2010 #1265 Share Posted February 1, 2010 I haven't heard anything about them removing the outdoor movie screen on the Victory. Why would they do that? Can anyone who has recently sailed her fill us in. Thanks
sunseeker09 Posted February 1, 2010 #1266 Share Posted February 1, 2010 The big outdoor screen is still there. At least it was Jan 3-10. I can't see why they would remove it.

Can anyone who has recently sailed her fill us in. Thanks The big screen is there. They run a movie mid-morning and again in the evening. Other stuff like ship events and shore excursion info at other times. Pink Panther II was run several times during our mid-January cruise. The big TV seems to have replaced most of the live pool side entertainment. Mike in Ohio

Mike in Ohio It would cost a lot to remove it....I would see them just not using it as much and leaving it in place, before they paid to have it removed...but I think they are too locked in to using it as a cheaper version of entertainment and music. on the subject of live entertainment....what type of band do they have in the cigar lounge at night? I know the ships used to have jazz bands, but when I was on the Splendor, they had a great latin ensemble playing. Is that the same on most ships now? Changes_In_Lattitudes Posted February 1, 2010 #1271 Share Posted February 1, 2010 Hi all. I did not see it posted here through a search, so if it's there and I missed it I apologize. But it appears that Victory does not have a steakhouse. Does the Victory offer any type of formal dining in lieu of the steakhouse (not counting the "formal nights")? Thanks! libtrek Posted February 1, 2010 #1274 Share Posted February 1, 2010 I believe that the formal/elegant nights are the only option. ;) No extra dining room on this ship. Lido or the main dining rooms although they now offer anytime dining in the Atlantic dining room and scheduled seating in the Pacific. The big screen goes all day but some of the concerts they show are pretty old. Also whoever asked no frig in balcony rooms but if you bring small cooler, room stewart will add ice. On our cruise piano bar was always packed. Live music on the edge of the casino, CW on night, Latin the next, etc. Libtrek

The Onyx Room, the cigar bar, was never very busy on my January cruise. They alternated between a piano player and a singing duo for a couple of hours each evening. Other times, there was recorded music playing. Most nights by the casino there was either a country music singer or the leader of the orchestra playing solo. There was also someone playing in the piano bar each evening. Mike
