chamima Posted December 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2004 We will be in St. Thomas and Tortola and would like to do one day sail. Anyone have any recommendations on whether it would be better to sail St. Thomas/St. John or Tortola/ Virgin Gorda (the baths)? Any specific boats? Thanks in advance. 4cruzin Posted December 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2004 We are doing a one day sail with Fantasy in St. Thomas over New Years. If that is not too late for you I will post review when we get back.
MandyGirl Posted December 7, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2004 We rented a dinghy from Noah's for St John and went beach-to-beach on our own - had a great day. Snorkeled at Waterlemon, revisited Hawksnest (our wedding beach), walked along Cinnamon, had lunch at Trunk, and spread out a sheet to just enjoy Honeymoon Beach. Made for a terrific day at our own pace. http://www.bookitvi.com/nla.htm Have had prior experience with two catamarans in the past out of St John: Calypso (40') and Adventurer (53'). Had positive times on both sails. www.adventurer.com The next day in Tortola, we did a catamaran sail with Patouche to the Baths and another snorkeling area... and had a wonderful time. Patouche only takes 16 guests on Shamwari (48' catamaran) and we enjoyed it immensely. We try to do a day on a catamaran each cruise, and for this cruise, we chose Tortola for that day. www.patouche.com Our cruise involving St John and Tortola was over Thanksgiving this year. Pics are in my homepage under cruises. :)
joleda Posted December 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2004 I second that for Patouche. Great people, very friendly and you will have a super time. We did a half day to Peter Island because we didn't have a lot of time, but it was awesome. St Thomas, go with http://www.Interlinesail.com. Jan and Omar are just incredible people. You will have the time of your life. They only take 6 on the sailboat, but if you have more, they will take 2 out togehter for a tandem sail. Just great people that I cannot wait to see again.
