Embassy suites miami or Hampton Inn & suites blue lagoon

I stayed around the corner form the Hampton Inn in March (Homewood Suites - Blue Lagoon). The HI is across the street from a small strip mall with a Starbucks, Publix gorcery, liquor store (for your pre-cruise shopping:D), and 3 dining options (chinese, italian, and Cuban - we chose Casa Juan and enjoyed it) + Burger King. Hope this "neighborhood" info helps. Good luck!:)

At the HomeWood Suites, where we stayed, there was a shuttle service offered for $10/person (large van towing a trailer for luggage) - which seems to be the going rate from many airport area hotels; we opted for a cab ride ($24 + tip). Good luck!:)
