Deloresgardella Posted May 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2009 Are there any good restaurants in Oahu around the Waikiki area that is moderately priced. We will be there for three nights post cruise in September. Thank you Delores
shemo Posted May 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2009 On the west side of Waikiki: Eggs N' Things on Saratoga Rd (between Kalakaua and Kalia Rds.) for breakfast. Shorebird Rest. in the Outrigger Reef Hotel (Kalia Rd at Lewers St.) Look for coupons. Buffet all day with cook your own entree at night. Fabulous ocean view, right on the beach. We go all the time and love it. Sorry don't know the name, but a new Italian place opened up on Ena Rd just off Ala Moana Blvd. Ena is a short street and the restaurant is near where Hobron Lane deadends into Ena Rd. (Just to confuse you some more....Kalia Rd and Ena Rd are the same street...it changes names when it crosses Ala Moana Blvd.) There is a Denny's on Kalia Rd near the Outrigger Reef Hotel. On the east side of Waikiki: Go up Kapahulu Ave. Lots of restaurants all up the street from about Ala Wai Blvd all the way up toward the freeway and mountains. Hee Hing Chinese, La Bamba Mexican, India Cafe, Ono Hawaiian Foods, Rainbow Drive-In, Uncle Bo's and much more. Waikiki is full of restaurants but the trick is to find the reasonably priced ones. Look in the tourist publications, in the info rack at your hotel, for coupons. Ala Moana Shopping Center has a good food court with lots of choices. Also a small food court at International Market Place on Kalakaua Ave.:)
cccole Posted May 7, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Will you have a car or will you need to be within walking distance of your hotel? Cherie
mikaula Posted May 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2009 There are lots of great places to eat, very few that are cheap and a couple moderately priced We decided to stop looking at the price and try to just enjoy the "experience". It made us feel better.
Deloresgardella Posted May 7, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Thank you shemo for the information. We won't have a car but will probably use the bus a lot. We will be staying at The Waikiki Banyan. We also have a savings card which should help some. This is my first time at Hawaii in 20 years and my daughter has never been so want to make it as special as possible
Louise45 Posted May 7, 2009 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2009 We loved the Cheesecake Factory, look up their menu online. It's huge and the food is awesome, the portions large.
c-to-sea Posted May 8, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 8, 2009 Try Tiki's at 2570 Kalakaua Av. in the Resort Quest Waikiki Beach Hotel. Prices are reasonable and good food. It is one level up from the street with a view of the beach. Great service and some good entertainment. http://www.tikisgrill.com/
