Accra Beach timescale

Any idea how long it would take from cruise terminal to accra. Also taxi price.

Thanks

How long? about 10-15 mins, depending on the traffic.

Taxi fare I'm not good at since I have my own car

but I hear it's around US$20 for a couple in a cab, one way.

Taxi fare is usually negotiable

particularly if it's a whole group of you hiring an 8- or 10-seater minivan.

My wife and I just recently visited Barbados(Apr. 28th)...

We took a taxi to Rockley/Accra Beach from the cruise terminal for $20US(for the both of us)...The taxi ride took about 15 minutes and there was no problem getting one as there were plenty of offers...After taking the first offer we were given we crammed into a full van to take us there...

On the return trip we opted to take the city bus downtown(there's a stop right there at Rockley/Accra beach)...

I handed the bus driver $3US for the both of us and he said it was too much and handed me back 2 bucks...The city bus moves fast!!!...So it might not be for the timid...

Both a taxi and the bus will get you from point A to point B but for the cost and space?...I would recommend the city bus...

I also understand that there is a shuttle that goes from the cruise dock to downtown Bridgetown...however we instead chose to take the 25 minute walk back to port to work off the lunch we had just eaten...

We just returned from Rockley/Accra beach also. Loved the boardwalk! Took a self portrait in the mirrored glass, turned out great.

If you need some beverages without being harassed, visit the red kiosk -De Rock with Patricia. She did not stalk us as we came up unlike several others mentioned in prior posts. She also sat and talked with us about life on Barbados. Interesting lady.

Can't get over how wonderful your photos are Hubby is dead jealous
Tell him he needs to buy a Sigma 10-20 mm. lens for his Canon or Nikon ;)

That's pretty much the trick.

The other bit of course...is to live here and thus be in a position to pick your days....
