turquoisesea Posted May 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2009 We are considering this excursion in August. Has anyone done it? Can you share your experience?
Poohb Posted May 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2009 A few years ago we did this excursion. It was the perfect way to learn to snorkel (IMHO). The trip over was on a little boat..fun but very rocky. The folks that worked there were easy going and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Some ppl went back to the ship early. The 'shuttle' boat came by a few times to transport. We stayed most of the day and enjoyed the 'ambiance'. Here are some pictures of the trip. turquoisesea Posted May 12, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted May 12, 2009 Poohb.... Thank you for your response. So it would seem this would not be a great choice for an experience snorkeler who loves to see sunken ships?
Poohb Posted May 12, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2009 Probably not. DH says the sunken ship and cannons were put there specifically for this snorkel place. It was our first time, we felt v. comfortable.
aquatot11 Posted May 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 14, 2009 We have been on the excursion to the Tiki Hut 3 times. It is great!!! check out their web site: www.snorkelstmaarten.com I have seen small squid and octopus, besides the usual fish. After snorkeling, enjoy relaxing in a noodle chair in the water Charlie
