mellyhelly Posted May 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2004 If you are looking for a great price for the Med next year, check out the May 15 & 29 sailing. It is only for the one week, but on the Brilliance and the prices right now are incredible. Instead of in and out of Barcelona, they go into Rome and out of Barcelona and vice versa. Great way to stay in Italy a few extra days. Guess what, we've booked it!
Family of 14 Posted May 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2004 Thanks for the tip. Not sure if a week is enough though. We are looking into the Med. with a group of frinds. We were looking at this cruise/date: http://www.cruisecritic.com/bargains/news.cfm?NewsID=3311&partner=1 I will check your dates out as well and send the info along to the others. Where did you get your pricing? Have you booked your airfare yet? Host Karen Posted May 4, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2004 If it's your first time to the Med, you may want to consider the June 17, 2005 itinerary which includes Venice. Most travelers say that is a port not to be missed. You should also check out Celebrity's itineraries, which go from Barcelona to Venice or vice versa. mellyhelly Posted May 4, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 4, 2004 This is our third Med cruise - we did the 12 day twice with RCI and both included Venice - it was beautiful but we really loved Rome so this one gives us the opportunity to stay there a couple of days. Prices are on the RCI website for those interested.
cruise'n Posted May 4, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 4, 2004 We did the longer Med cruise that included Venice and I agree that Venice is not to be missed! It was our favorite port Our cruise began and ended in Barcelona. One thing to consider also is that air fare is typically less expensive when you come and go from the same air port. I am sure that you will enjoy whichever cruise you book. The Med is an amazing place. Lynn A smile is the closest distance between two people

mellyhelly Posted May 5, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted May 5, 2004 fireguy 091 - go into Royal Caribbean's website - www.royalcaribbean.com - and their prices are up for the entire year 2005. I agree if you are going for the first time Venice is absolutely worth seeing so you will want to consider the 12 day. The 7 day is a great value though if you want to add a land tour with it to see more.
