Which is the airport that we will fly into and how far is it from the cruise terminal. Does Princess go out of the Port Everglades terminal?

Can you tell this is our first time to Florida so I am feeling a little lost.

You fly into the Ft Lauderdale-Hollywood Intl airport. The port is a few miles away.

Sometimes Princess uses Miami Airport for Ft. Lauderdale cruises too. They have transfers available from both airports. It's going to depend on which carrier is less expensive out of your home airport.

Miami and Ft. Lauderdale are only about 20 - 25 miles apart if I remember correctly.

Yes, Princess ships sail out of Port Everglades, very close to the airport, about 5-10 minutes away depending on traffic.

Thanks, that helps me decide on a hotel that is close to both:D

We normally stay somewhere on 17th street, just outside the pier and not far from the airport. There are many hotels in that area that are quite nice, and some not all the expensive if you are trying to conserve. ;)

Just a suggestion - many hotels in FLL offer free shuttles from the airport to the hotel, and the hotel to the pier. Might want to factor that into your choice of hotel as well.:)

Right now we are just hoping to get anything under $200 a night. It is Super Bowl weekend and apparently the hotel/motel industry is taking advantage and doubling or tripeling their rates. You will see an advertized rate and as soon as you put in the date you watch the rate hit $400 instead of the $99 . But, there are a couple that are with in 4-5 miles from the terminal and I don't mind paying a taxi if I save on the room.
