Carnival Dream right after Oasis of the Seas???

Recommended Posts

We're starting to think(just to think:D) about a New Year cruise on Carnival's new ship Dream...the "problem" is we'll be out of Oasis' pre inaugural and inaugural cruises in Dec 12 and the Dream leaves Dec 25....do you think it will be ok or we'll be impressed with the difference??? I don't know...we've been on Carnival....it's ok with us....we just wanna leave for the new year but near home(no drive to FLL or MIA) and we've been to RCI's Freedom Class so would like to try the Dream.....what do you think???

Go ahead and try it. Just keep in mind that they are two different companies and designs. The Dream will be more like a Voyager class in size but will not have the amenities that the newer RCI ships have. Don't try to compare it to RCI and you will be fine.

Yep I'm excited about it....first a new year cruise after our 11 nights on Oasis would be awesome...and second I'm curious about this new ship and she's gonna be here in PC!:)

I think it would be difficult to compare the two. The two lines arent trying to make one like the other. RC is putting out Oasis to make the ship much more of a factor in the overall experience. CCL has put a lot into Dream...but I dont believe the intent was for the on board amenities to compare w/Oasis. I would just go ready to enjoy each leg for what they are and compare the ships as little as possible

I think the good point of what you are considering is that the two cruise experiences should be very different. You won't feel like the second cruise is just the second week of a back to back.

I agree with both of you....there is no way to compare RCI and CCL and that's what will make each one unique.....I can't wait to be at sea more than half of December!!! Hope it works :)
