Can you walk to Ft. Seward from the cruise ship?

After our hike in Haines (if I am still alive), I am assuming they drop us back off at the cruise ship, right? We are wanting to go to Ft. Seward and possibly the hammer museum and shop in Haines. Are we able to walk to these places or do we need a cab? TIA!

Yes you can walk. Very close to the pier.
