Glory Gang: Follow-up to Freddy and Floatie's Reviews

On May 2nd, a group of CC buddies called the Glory Gang set sail for a fun-filled week on the seas. Stowaway Freddy (the Flamingo) and Floatie have already shared reviews and did an exquisite job. This mini-review will fill in a few blanks and share some additional insight our amazing getaway. :)

 

To get started, here's a little background on our group, written to the tune of Gilligan's Isle:

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,

a tale of the Glory Gang

 

 

who started from a Florida port

aboard a Car-ni-val FunShip!

The mate was a mighty sailin' man

 

 

 

The Skipper brave and sure

 

 

Eight passengers set sail in May for a seven day tour.

A seven-day tour.

The weather started getting rough,

the tiny ship was tossed.

If not for the courage of the fearless crew

 

 

 

The Glory would be lost.

Continuing on with some of the fun and antics we shared during the week:

 

Now this is the tale of the Glory Gang--

memories to last a long time

 

We definitely made the best of things

and surely had a bloody fine time

The first mate and the Skipper, too,

 

they did their very best,

 

to make sure the Glory Gang had a blast

as part of this drunkiefest.

No phone, no lights, no motor cars

 

Not a single luxury -- (Well maybe the infamous ipod)

 

 

 

But we had our bud, Damian,

and were as happy as could be!!

(The Swine Flu may have interrupted our travel plans to Mexico on this cruise, but we had our own Cinco de Mayo fun!)

Several people in the Piano Bar that week enjoyed autographed copies of the early release of Damian's new CD: Haiku Troubadour. He is simply a magnificent artist -- dazzling piano skills and a voice to match!

Dollars bills were flying at the "fish bowl" all week long in appreciate of Damian's talents. There were several "ringers" and those people got to request two songs.

 

Since Damian's contract with Carnival ended mid-week, he got to join us as a guest on board. On the final night, no one was playing in the piano bar so we had an impromptu "glowing home party"...

 

 

When they cranked up Damian's CD the piano bar was circling 'round, just as though he was still playing -- and several others stopped by to join the festivities! Damian chuckled pretty hard when I threw some wadded up money on the piano bar as a tip that night!!

...and we can't forget our new Canadian buds! When they met up with us at the Greenhouse on St. Maarten we found that they had just learned that day they were expecting their first child. Congratulations!!!

 

 

...Remember the guy in the yellow. I thought he was going to die the night that Bon talked about the stomach orgasm from the Supper Club -- and boy could he sing the drankin' song. (Lift up your skirt!!) No nay never no more!!!

 

 

...and how 'bout the night the guy on the right requested Piano Man and Damian jokingly said in a sarcastic tone of voice ''Piano Man is Twenty Bucks!!. I wish I would have seen Damian's face when the guy flopped the $20 out there without blinking an eye (and let me tell you, it was worth every penny. I know piano guys probably get sick of that one, but Damo does it brilliantly. What a crowd pleaser!!)

...and don't forget the night Damian headed onto the dance floor for "Let's Dance" and we all joined him! Good times, good times!

Apparently Freddy upset the Chef one night and he was about to put poor lil Freddy on the menu. I know I got mighty scared when he pulled that knife and was about to "off with Freddy's head!) :eek:

 

 

But Damian arrived just in the nick of time. Apparently he sang something like "Stop! In the name of love, before you break my heart."

 

 

It must have worked, because the chef gave Freddy a reprieve and he was still making the rounds at the piano bar the rest of the week, along with visits to Katarina at the martini bar, and stints in the disco bar, and at the lido bar... and... well, you get the picture!

 

 

Later Andrew returned and thanked Deputy Damian for keeping watch over his Stowaway. He then visited the Chef and had a few words with him, just to let him know there's a new Sheriff in town -- and you mess with Freddy, you mess with SMOOFDADDY! :eek:

we are headed for the Glory May 30...your excitement is contagious and I hope we meet people half as fun as you...we will be in heaven! Thanks for all the laughter you have brought to me and many others with your pcitures and remarks...Freddy included.

While we were sailing on the Glory, several of our sinna friends were just getting off the Splendor. We thought of them often, as well as our friends back home.

 

Of course, as expected, as soon as Allen was out of sight Jeffie was off to happier horizons. One night he mentioned to Damian that "I only have eyes for you..." As far as Damian's reaction, this picture says it all.

 

 

 

But in case Jeff didn't get the message, Damo made it pretty clear later on: "Blow it out your ear!! I'd rather find a flamingo!! :eek:

 

 

 

I guess Allen is back in the running with Jeffie after all. :p

But word has it that when Jeffie and Damian found out they share the same birthday in August, they patched things up and lived happily ever after.

Speaking of flamingos, I tried to be friendly with Freddy when we met up with him for our pre-cruise party in Cocoa Beach at the Doubletree...

 

 

I turned my back for only a second and Freddy got a bit too friendly!! :eek: Baaaaad bird!!
