Dog musher camp on our own

I was wondering if anyone had gone to the dog musher camp without being on a tour?

I know they have them at two of the Ports but I am not sure how far away they are from where the ship is.

Thanks for any info you can share

I am not sure that I get the question. I have been to many mushers but that is because I have traveled Alaska extensively. The ones that are part of tours, usually have some kind of show and make money to help pay for their mushing. You don't have to take a tour to get to Jeff King's. You do and he has an entrance fee himself. There is a musher at Chickaloon by the Madanushka (sP?) glacier. You can have lunch at the restaurant and walk down and see the dogs, but you won't learn anything about mushing or the teams. It is just seeing dogs chained to their houses. So it is the cost of the tour?
