Eden Rock or Boating to a reef with children?

We are thinking of heading over to Eden Rock for a little bit and then to Seven Mile Beach. We have 4 kids (16, 12, 7, and 3). Is Eden Rock appropriate for the younger ones? Will there be a place for my husband and myself to sit with the youngest and take turns or would she be okay in the water with us with a life vest? OR are we better off going on a boat to a reef?
