KAYEF Posted June 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Is HAL still giving out playing cards in the Library if one wants to play some card games and didn't bring any along?
DFD1 Posted June 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Seems so. We were able to get playing cards on Eurodam a few months ago from the front desk. We were playing a game that required four decks. No problem. There were also some notes in the daily announcements about a bridge game scheduled in the card room where cards were left on the table for that group. Hope you win! sk8teacher Posted June 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Typically the casino tries to sell used decks for $1.00 (as I recall) but if you go to the front desk and ask, they will give you new decks for free! Cheers,
scottjeanne Posted June 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Cards are available to borrow from the library check out desk only if the ship is not in code red due to norovirus (which you cannot anticipate). They will not lend cards (or even books) if the ship has been coded.
KAYEF Posted June 1, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Gee, I didn't even know you could "borrow"..............we've always just asked for them and they give them to us in the Library. Thanks for the hint about going to the Front Desk. Three more days and I'm off to Vancouver.;)
DFD1 Posted June 1, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2009 The front desk gives out new cards with the HAL logo on them, or at least they have when we have asked on two or three different cruises. I think I've accumulated about 8 or 10 decks.
Harry1954 Posted June 4, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 4, 2009 Whenever we played bridge on HAL cruise and did not have cards, we would go to front desk and they always were accommodating. harry

tennisobo Posted June 5, 2009 #10 Share Posted June 5, 2009 There's a deck with Jokers? Is that the one where the kids knock on all the doors about 2 AM? Which deck is that? I want to make sure I'm on a different one.
