Rusty Posted June 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2009 Are these "BA" balconies a good selection?: C307; C305; C623; C625; C627; C629 or to save some money: category "BE" E206? Thanks for your prompt responses.
Embracedbylife Posted June 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2009 C307; C305 are forward and C623; C625; C627; C629 are near the aft. Otherwise they are all on Caribe deck which will give you a half covered/half uncovered balcony. E206 is very much forward on Emerald deck so the balcony is totally covered. Depends if you want forward or aft and if you prefer to be up higher or lower. If you cruised before and liked the location of your room maybe try to stay in the same type of location. Some people prefer aft, I prefer mid forward...it's all personal preference I think!

Thanks for your prompt responses. The BA are just fine. Those are on the Caribe deck where the balconies are half covered and half opened. Good choices. BE is simply location. either toward the bow or aft. The BA are in the center of the ship. Marilyn

LuvTheGoodLife Posted June 3, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 3, 2009 Caribe deck offers larger balconies than all other decks. Caribe deck balconies, whether category BA or BB, are sized 9 ft wide x 9 ft deep. Balconies on Lido, Aloha, Baja and Emerald would be sized 9 ft wide x 5 ft deep. If the cost difference was not too great, I would choose a Caribe deck balcony for the extra size.
FirstisAlaska Posted June 3, 2009 #9 Share Posted June 3, 2009 What is the difference between BA, BB and BC categories.
litehouz70 Posted June 3, 2009 #10 Share Posted June 3, 2009 If you go onto the princess website & click to "plan" a cruise & select one. You can get to the area where it allows you to pick a category (BA BD..etc). In the description paragraph of the catgory, it should tell you the area(s) of the ship the category is in. I hope this helps.
Bucky3 Posted June 3, 2009 #11 Share Posted June 3, 2009 These cabins, BA, BB, BC are all the same size. The difference is the location on the ship and balcony size depending on the deck you choose. Caribe Deck has the larger balconies and they are partially covered.

sun&sea Posted June 3, 2009 #13 Share Posted June 3, 2009 I took these pictures while docked next to the Star a few years ago. The balconies that I believe to be E202, 204, 206, 208 (cat BE and BF) are unique in that there is a walkway infront of them. The balonies are mirrored so that you can't really see into them, and I believe they close off that area at night. http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2362196730037043165ezsrDe?vhost=travel http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2192255890037043165QtxKLe?vhost=travel Janet

They are huge and private. I think they are a great deal and try to get them.....

DH and I just booked Cabin E202 on the Star and LOVED the shots you got of those covered balconies with the walkway in front of them. (Particularly shots #4 and #5). Is there a way you could email those 2 photos to me? I tried printing from webshots but it doesn't allow me to. My email address is nbinder AT yahoo DOT com. I appreciate it if you can. Thanks! flamomo Posted August 20, 2009 #20 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Caribe deck is my favorite location, because of the larger (and half covered) balconies, and midship or a little aft is great for feeling less motion, if you are affected by it.
