Does the upgrade fairy ever visit people who are booked with a 3rd person in a cabin?

From what I have read, it seems like the RCL only upgrades people in cabins that are of double occupancy.

 

I'm just curious as to whether anyone was upgrade with a 3rd/4th person in the cabin.

good question, I would like to know that too. currently just my DH and I are booked in an aft cabin. We will be adding our youngest son (we are waiting because our older son may go too and if he does then we will get a room for the two of them) What would happen if they upgraded us now before we added our son and put us in a room that won't allow a third person? hmmm

Someone on my Med cruise was upgraded from a D1 triple to a JS. I have seen other posters say that they were upgraded with more than 2 people.

As Marci said we had DH, myself and DS booked into a D1 and we were upgraded to a JS ...this was on Brilliance.

DW, DD and I sailed 5/2 on Enchantment and were upgraded from a GS to Owner's Suite which was great...Only problem is now DW has made me book the OS for our next trip

The four of us were upgraded on Adventure of the Seas from a D1 to a GS quad cabin.
