Jade - Eastern Med - which side?

Going on the Jade in January on an Eastern Med cruise (Rome, Ephesus, Athens, ALexandria, Malta). Will have a balcony for the first time! Which side of the ship would be better for the scenery? Thanks.

I've been thinking about this, and I can't think of anything for one or the other. Civvi and Piraeus are just big ports; same with Turkey and Egypt. The main sights from the ship are the Straits of Messina, on the sea day after Civvi, when you will first pass the active volcano of Stromboli, and that is on the starboard ; the actual Straits are narrow enough to see either the Italian mountains on port or Sicely with the volcanic Mt.Etna on starboard. If it's fine, then it's worth going to the stern of the ship to see both sides thru' the narrow bit. Coming into Piraeus, you need to be up front for a sight of the Acropolis. The other part to notice is the entrance to Malta , which is stunning, and the views are pretty good from both sides, so again it's best to be up on top, ready to step off as soon as she docks. Enjoy!-jocap.
