"Reciprocal" $131 fee p/p upon entry into Chile at Santiago airport

Is this the one and only benefit we get from having a UK passport? It seems that in every other way we are penalised for being UK citizens (for example, not benefiting from a reduction in the price of the cruise once we have booked).

We too are flying into Valparaiso for a Round-the-Horn cruise, but nobody told us about this, so I suppose it doesn't apply to us - I hope.

I have a dutch passport and always book directly in the States and always get a price drop..

When we flew into Santiago a few years ago it was March 30th and we paid $46. Our friends arrived on April 1st and the fee had gone up to $61. Now it's $131. We have only our own U.S. govt. to thank for this, because as they raise our fees, so does Chile raise theirs.

I just paid $130 for a Brazilian Visa; also reciprocal fee.
