Karen--we were in room 7111 on the May 14th sailing. Nice location but hope you do not hit the rough weather we had sailing out of Kodiak. That night the room moaned and groaned but my husband just put his ear plug in and snored away. I kept going over to the door area and tried to "fix" the problem---impossible--not much sleep that night! We got good wifi connection in the room. That was nice.

One other thing--you can get cranberry juice and tomato juice at the buffet. Just ask the person standing near that area and they will get it for you. It is right there but they do NOT put it out--only if you ask for it.

Enjoy "our" room. I got to tour the suite at the end of the hall--very nice and larger balcony than the ones on deck 6 or 8 because of the bump out on deck 7. Don't think I would want to leave the room if I were there.

Thanks for your entertaining reports--you too, Pam. Am reliving our cruise which was really great. Sammi had said she was leaving to do the world cruise, but didn't think it was until July. Will be interested to hear who replaces her. I agree with your 2 choices for best cruise directors--John Lawrence and Sammi Baker.

Keep the reports coming.

The walk into Valdez is easy if you can walk on sidewalks the entire way. There's a nice viewpoint that you can hike up to on the hill between the pier and town which gets you a nice view of the ship, bay and mountains. The walk between the pier and town goes around the hill.

We didn't walk into Seward as we did the Kenai Fjords tour.

The Kodiak walk isn't so much fun as there are no sidewalks for part of the way but you get to see the fish processing plants. Note: if you take a tour and get dropped off in town after your tour you can hop the shuttle back to the pier without a shuttle transfer.

As the ship left Kodiak last Friday the eagles were circling over the boats besides us waiting for a snack. It was pretty amazing.

It is called the Most Travelled Luncheon and the top 40 passengers are invited to lunch with the Captain. This is not 40 couples; 40 people. The top three couples get to sit with the Captain and the others are seated at small tables (no table is usually larger than 6 or 7) with other staff such as the Passenger Services Director, Ship's Doctor, Hotel Manager, Cruise Director, Chief Purser, Captain Circle Host/Hostess, etc. The menu is inscribed with your name, which of course is your souvenir and a photo is taken with you and the captain or with your entire table (varies by ship) which is also presented to you at the end of your meal.

I think this about covers it. Oh yes, the wine flows. Unlimited. You have to actually stop them from constantly refilling your glass.

[SIZE=3][COLOR=indigo]Many times I [/COLOR][/SIZE][SIZE=3][COLOR=#4b0082]havent even come close to making the cut[/COLOR][/SIZE]

[SIZE=3][COLOR=indigo]i'm also elite with celebrity and diamond + with RCCL and pretty high with Holland America [/COLOR][/SIZE]
[SIZE=3][COLOR=indigo][/COLOR][/SIZE]
[SIZE=3][COLOR=indigo]and without a doubt Princess has the best perks[/COLOR][/SIZE]

The lowest amount of days I've ever heard is 196. Usually nothing happens until after 225. On the Amazon Pacific cruise (end of March) our friends had their first luncheon and they were at 321. You never know.

Adding to Karen's complete missive, the treadmills are also in pounds and kilos.

I had no idea about this Lunch perk. :eek: It comes with the territory. Interesting as the staff meets the top 40 crusiers - my wife heard about it - but I was kept out-of-the-need-to-know loup - until you helped. :o

Pia is right (again!) about the egg crete thing as it makes the bed a little softer and some request it every trip.
