What time to get to the port of SD

Hi,just wondering what would be the best time to get to the port of SD?Ship sails at 4:00 and we will be cruising with 2 other couples.We will stay in a hotel close to the port the night before and they will shuttle us there.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.;)

We've left from San Diego a few times and they usually start letting people on the ship at 11:30 or so. They start with weddings, handicapped and VIP. After that they start calling the zones numbers. If you get there early you can be in an low numbered zone.

depends:

This is a very small port and supper easy to checked into.

If you are eager to get on the ship and navigate around, find your room have lunch then be there at 11:30ish

 

However, if you dont really care then I say spend the morning touring San Diego. its one of my fav towns, easy to walk around in. Check your luggage in the lobby with the hotel go out and have some fun and come back about 2 and then board.

 

just depends on what you like...and you dont all have to board together if some what to venture while others dont
